Donna sent me pictures of Eric resting at home and of Dr. Sucato & Eric before Eric came home from the hospital.

The amazing Dr. Sucato

Eric resting at home
Donna is still exhausted, as she gets up to turn Eric several times a night. The hospital bed should be arriving either Friday or Monday. The new bed should make Eric more comfortable at home.
Megan is happy to have the family reunited again. Megan has been a trooper while Eric was in the hospital. Donna and Megan had the opportunity to speak to Megan’s Girl Scout Troop about having a sibling with special needs. What perfect timing for Megan to express her experiences with others in addition to raising awareness to her peers! We are proud of you Megan!
I’m going out on a limb here – without speaking to Donna first . . . . If friends of the Rice’s would like to bring them dinner (or even gift cards so pick up dinner to go), please feel free as the entire household is exhausted. If enough people are interested, I don’t mind setting up a schedule through email. As always, please don’t feel obligated; I know there are times when we want to help and aren’t sure how. Also, I’m positive that Eric will be getting stir crazy, so any friends (particularly teens) of Eric please call him or make arrangements to visit and play a video game or two
Thanks again for all of your love & support!
Aunt Ann

I’m so glad you’re still being such a strong boy Eric!

Hi Eric,
You and I have not officially met so here goes…I am a really good friend of your grandpa Pat’s, and because he is so proud of you and loves you to pieces, I feel as if I know you already!
He has kept us posted regarding your surgery, and you have been in our prayers and thoughts continually throughout these days of surgery and recovery. I am so glad that you are home already…I’m sure you like it better that way. Though it sounds like your doctor and the nurses have done a great job, it’s always easier to recover at home among family and friends who love you.
Since you live in Texas, I’m not sure that you’ve seen much snow. Living in Minnesota, I can tell you that we get alot of the “white stuff”! But we love snow, so it’s o.k.
Take good care and know that you have friends in the North Woods of Minnesota…I’ll try to send some pictures so you can see where we live.
In the meantime, as Lance Armstrong says…”Live Strong!”
Much Love,
Kathy(and family at the Pie Place)
go Eric! Keep up the great healing. I’m so glad the Giants came through for you. I pray for support and rest for your whole family, as you all heal. Best of luck to you all.
HI, Eric, So glad to hear you are home. That was agreat game on Sunday, and I even watched it! AZ was wild, and the rain held off. Well, you take care, Love to all. Get some rest. Love&prayers, Aunt Jan& Uncle Dennis
Eric,
It was great talking with you. You will someday realize you are an inspiration to so many! You are not only loved, but admired.
We will be seeing you next month(March 14th). We are looking forward to spending more time with you. Keep getting stronger!
Love, Peace, Joy, Music, & Magic,
Grandama Katie & Grandpa Pat
I am Ryan Wilcock’s granny and I met Aunt Ann and Mary in 2005 when I visited my children. They live a few houses from your aunt Ann. I live in South Africa close to Johannesburg and we are coming to the end of our summer right now.
Eric, I wish for you pain-free recovery and many joyful hours with your family and friends. Keep on smiling and being a great inspiration to those who come into contact with you.
Love, “Granny Renola”
Hey Eric,
Mom said you wanted to go out for a steak. Hope that steak tonight was just as good as it could be. Seems like after such a short time, you are back to being a typical, HUNGRY teenager. Keep getting stronger.
Way to go!
Love, Peace, Joy, Music, & Magic,
Grandama Katie & Grandpa Pat
Hi Eric,
I am your Grandmother Carole’s friend from St. Mark’s. What a thrill to know that you are home and doing so well! What a fortunate young man you are to have such a loving and supportive family to see you through this medical adventure. You are a brave and wonderful young man.
Best wishes,
Ruth Wardlaw
Eric:
Well I’m into the 5th city of a 19 city tour and I’m as close to you as I’m going to get. I’m in Houston, TX for 2 days. We are entertaining at the Double Tree Resort here for the Hampton Corp. I’m working with a couple of Cirque style clowns, 3 jugglers with a knife thrower, a 3 piece band, a piano player and a couple of other folks that are traveling and making a bunch of people laugh.
It’s kind of like a big family along with all the ups and downs of daily life on the road.
After Texas I’m off to Atlanta, Boston, Philadelphia, Indianapolis, Portland, Denver, New Orleans, Nashville, Atlanta (again) and St. Petersburg.
I just wanted you to know that I check this blog and am truly amazed at the love and support you have. You must be one heck of a kid. Sure… I heard that from you Grandpa Pat, but heck, he’s your Grandpa…
But as I read about your incredible journey, I have come to realize that you are a shining star in your own right. This is a special time of your life and you are being bombarded with all the love and light of the Universe. You got to love that.
So as a bystander, I stand here in a hotel room and give you a standing ovation for the work you are doing not only for yourself, but for me and everyone else that your love touches.
Thanks for being there. Thanks for sharing your life with us. Thanks for helping us be better people and thanks for your inspiration.
Keep it up. Grow strong and straight. You are a pinpoint of light that is helping to illuminate the world.
Be cool dude… I’m watching & I’ll be in touch…

Hey, Eric,
I, too, like so many other people check this blog often to see how you are doing. You truly are a wonder to behold. You are progressing so rapidly in your recovery that you will be better than new before you know it. You truly are amazing and loved by many. You sure are blessed to be part of such a very special family (Mom, Dad, Megan, Aunt Ann & her family). I would also like to thank Aunt Ann for starting this blog and keeping us all updated. She has done a wonderful job. I hope someday Uncle Jerry and I can make a trip down to see you all and maybe play a game of Wii or something. I kind of like that Kids vs. Grownups game even if Grandma Katie & Grandpa Pat did cheat. Take care of yourself and continue on the road to good health.
Love ya,
Aunt Lucille
That’s terrific!
So glad all went well for you and the family.
I’m telling you, with the power of prayer teaming up with all of your strength you can conquer any feat such as the one you just have. You’re home and doing well so that’s all that matters.
Such an amazing person.
You have more strength in you than me, or any person I know.
If only we could all be as courageous as you, imagine what the world could be.
Hey Eric, I just read all the latest. You are so amazing. What an inspiration you are to all of us. I hope things are still going well and you continue to keep us posted. Have A Great Day !!!!!!!!!
Ms. P.

Hi Eric,
I hope you’re feeling better
Hi There Eric,
Won’t be long now until you are back in school . Spring Break is approaching fast. Hope you are doing great. How about the snow. It sure is pretty but so hard to drive in. Things got a little crazy around here since we don’t get snow that often everyone was exited and scared. Everybody says to tell you HI and hurry back. Have a great weekend.
Ms. Purdue
Hi Eric,
I don’t know you at all but I just wanted to say, hang in there! I know it can be tough to transition from being in a hospital to life at home because my older brother has muscular dystrophy and had an incident last year that placed him in the hospital for about 2 months. I will be praying for you and your family. I know God has an amazing plan for people like you, who have to suffer so much but always make it through because you are so strong. God bless you and your family!
