First Weekend Home
Aunt Ann here. I stopped by to see how Eric was doing today. He was relaxing in the recliner watching his friend, Bruce play a video game. Chris gave me a tour of Eric’s room - wow what a difference! Eric has more room and new “stuff” on his walls. Thanks to the Cleveland Indians (baseball team) and Cavaliers (basketball team) for sending Eric “well wishes” packages!
I encouraged Chris to have the Rice family write a post here on the blog. The entire family is so exhausted, I think they need some more time. The entire family is very appreciative for that the meals that have been provided for them! Being relieved of planning and cooking dinner helps Donna especially!
Have a good week, and we’ll keep you updated on Eric & the rest of the family!

Eric, Sorry it has been a few days since I wrote. I have been so swamped with work and writing you is helping me to remember why I teach. Kids like you that make me realize that teaching is both fun and rewarding. I miss seeing you. Time is going fast though. I heard your room looks a whole lot different. It is fun changing decor sometimes. I think I need to redo some things in here. Hope you are still doing well. Get some rest and have a good evening.
P.S. I just picked up teaching Wednesday school. I will let you know how it turns out. Bet I’ll be tired on Thursday.

Eric, It is so great that you are home resting without all those darn interruptions from the nurses. I think about you and the family everyday. It is amazing what you have been through the last couple weeks and even more amazing the progress you are making. (Thanks to your Aunt Ann and this blog for keeping us all in the loop.)
Keep smiling!
Love ya,
Mindy

Eric,
I bet if feels good to be home. I’m sure your family is glad to have you home. Do you like the way your bedroom looks? So I take it you are a big sports fan?

Hey Eric,
I check your blog every night about this time. Hope your pain is under control. After seeing your x-rays from the operation I can’t help thinking that your residual pain from the operation is probably less than before, or maybe it’s just different. Do you feel good enough to blog. I’m sure all your fans would like just a little note from you. Just keep thinking “it’s over!” It’s only up from here. You, your (great looking) Doctor, and your unbelievably dedicated parents should be saluted. Diane from Atlanta

Hey Eric,
Do you remember me? It’s Samantha Paterson. I was in your theater class at Shadow Ridge. I was also in the One-Act play with you last year. I was the Mama Bear! We still have your cow head in Ms. Jhonston’s room. I just wanted to tell you we are all thinking about you and praying for you every week at FCA. Do you remember Tanner Brodess too? He was with us in theater also. He wishes you the best of luck later in life and now in your troubled times. We all love you soooooooo much and can only wish we were in your place instead. You will always be in our hearts! Bless you!

Eric,
I live in Michigan… heard about your surgery and blog from my mom who works down in Dallas at the FAA. Just wanted to say that your story brightened my day and made me remember that i shouldn’t complain about the things that are hard for me… i should focus more on the things that i CAN do…
Praying for your recovery!

Eric,
It is so wonderful to hear how fantastic you are doing. One day at a time and one hour at a time on some days.
Ann,
What kind of gift cards for food would be good for the family. What about Blockbuster gift cards would that work.
