Mom here. It’s past time for a post from home, so I’m going to give it a try.
This has been a time of transition for Eric. I find myself trying to imagine what it would be like to go to sleep and wake up 4 inches taller in a different body. That is what Eric is going through. It wasn’t like a growth spurt. It was more like a magic wand! He’s having to adapt both physically and mentally to his new body. I’m sure it will take some time to get used to.
Eric has also been receiving support through snail mail. He enjoys opening the cards and letters. Thank you to Aunt Janet & Uncle Dennis, Cousin Maureen, Gram S. (aka Aunt Coletta), and Cousin Diane (and family) for the gifts. Granny and Pa brought over a Honey Baked Ham dinner right after everyone got home from the hospital. Thank you Christen for the delicious Chicken Pasta! Gracias to Mrs. Beltran (Aunt Ann’s mother-in-law) for the tamales! And hugs to Ms. Karen for surprising the family with Carrabba’s for Valentine’s dinner. To quote Eric: Oh my goodness! I have never tasted anything this good in my life! That was said after his first bite of sirloin marsala. It seems like Saltgrass might have some competition as Eric’s favorite restaurant for steak!
Eric and I were both pleasantly surprised today. The department where I work gave me a card for Eric before I left for home today. As you can see from the smile on Eric’s face he was happily surprised too.

Both Chris and I are fortunate to work with understanding and compassionate people. It has enabled both of us to focus on Eric and Megan for the past three weeks.
I have it on good authority that Eric is healing fantastically well. (Thanks Patty!) He had steri-strips covering both incisions. They are falling off and driving Eric crazy with itching!
I’m going to try to watch “LOST” on the Tivo. Thanks for staying tuned in!
Competition with Saltgrass?!?! That’s blasphemy!
Glad to hear everything is going well for you Eric. That cash should get you a little something-something at GameStop or Fry’s. Shouldn’t some kind of March Madness game come out soon?
I need to make time for LOST as well!
Oh how exciting!
I love seeing your smile in the picture :]
It makes me smile!!
Saltgrass is pretty good!! I won’t lie. I love their shrimp
I’m glad to hear everything’s going so well!

Are you going shopping this weekend? Between the gift cards you won at Bingo and this gift – have a fun shopping spree! Call me and let me know what you buy.
Lots of love,
Aunt Ann
Hang in there! The itching will be over before you know it!
Say “hi” to Megan for me!
Heal great.
Love,
Mary
As much as I heard about you and Saltgrass at school, the sirloin marsala must have been absolutely delectable!
I am so happy that you are healing so well, even though I know that it may be time before you are ready to come back to school. We all miss you here, and continue to wish you well.
I’m going to Carrabba’s now…oh, darn it – it’s nasty weather today…
Eric, I’m going to say it again – you look awesome…I’m in awe that there are such skilled folks at Scottish Rite…you’re blessed.
Oh, yeah…say hi to Megan for me, too! She may not remember me from bowling (I’m Mary’s ‘Aunt Sue’, too.)
